The Bar Council of India, vide a press release dated December 21, 2020, has declared the dates fixed for conducting the All India Bar Examination(AIBE). The dates were announced in the meeting of the General Counsel wherein it was confirmed that the AIBE – XV would be conducted on January 24, 2021, as earlier notified. The AIBE- XVI was fixed to be held on March 21, 2021. As announced earlier, the online registrations for appearing in the AIBE – XV exam have been closed on December 19, 2020. Admit Cards for the same will be issued on December 25, 2020.
As per the decisions taken in the General Council meeting, the online registration procedure for the AIBE – XVI would commence from December 26, 2020. Candidates will get an opportunity to register themselves for the March Exam, till February 21, 2021. The fees for the examinations will have to be paid by February 23, 2021. The last date for filing the online forms for the examination is February 26, 2021. The examination Admit Cards will be issued to the candidates on March 6, 2021. This method would be followed to accomplish the conducting of two All India Bar Examinations, in a span of 60 days.
It is pertinent to note that the AIBE –XV was to be conducted on August 16, 2020, however, due to the ongoing COVID – 19 situation in the country and the lockdown measures prevalent back then, the Bar Council of India vide its revised schedule had decided that the AIBE-XV would be conducted in January. According to the BCI Reports, advocates surpassing 1,00,000 in number have registered for AIBE –XV which is to be conducted in close to 50 cities across 140 exam centers, pan India.
Only those candidates that have enrolled themselves with their relevant State Bar Councils are eligible to give to All India Bar Examinations.
