The Tablighi Jamaat's Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi will soon be demolished. It is not because it is liable for every third case of Coronavirus in India, but because the construction of the nine-story house is illegal.
Records are in the process of paving the way for demolition, India TV said. The building paid neither land tax nor house tax. The channel stated that no action was taken despite many people living in the vicinity complementing the authorities with regard to the illegalities linked to the building.
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation announces that the entire building will be demolished and only two floors will remain. SDMC claims that ownership papers of the piece of land on which Markaz Nizamuddin is based have not been issued. The originally sealed building was meant to have been a two-story structure but now consists of seven floors. The proposal for a two-story building was passed in the name of a Madarsa who was standing where the Markaz now stands. Authorities have requested land ownership papers on several occasions but they have not been submitted. Now it's alleged that the house may have been constructed by usurping the property illegally.
The Government said the Tablighi Jamaat group held in Delhi mid-March was the key reason why COVID 19 cases in the country were sharply that. On Sunday, the Ministry of Health said that the doubling rate of cases was on average 4.1 days, up from 7.4 days earlier.
"The pace at which cases COVID-19 in India are now doubled is 4.1 days. If cases linked to the congregation Tablighi Jamaat had not existed, then they would have been 7.4 days," Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal, Union Health Ministry, said during a press conference. Specific authorities have made significant efforts towards quarantining nearly two thousand individuals linked to the religious community and their key contacts. Further details will soon be identified and quarantined.
