SCBA launches new Journal
Recently, the Supreme Court Bar Association launched its journal 'SCBA Times' and had celebrated the launch at the Supreme Court lawns. The launch was done in front of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra who was the Chief Guest along with the Union Minister for Law and Justice, Electronics, and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad as the guest of honor. This event was also attended by Justice Madan B.Lokur, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice UU Lalit, Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Ashok Bhushan of Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Dipak Mishra portrayed the SCBA times as a Journal of recognition and recollection and mentioned that it was not an ordinary one. While making a comparison between the journal and the health camp which was held within the premises of the court, the Chief Justice said that 'The Journal not only highlights the ideas but also brings out the fundamental aspects of each person'. Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad had posed a questioned stating that if the Journal could initiate on the conduct of simultaneous elections in India with a view on the depletion of the public resources for multiple elections. SCBA President, Mr. Vikas Singh assured that the executive committee of the association does not have a say in the Journal's Editorial Board and hence cannot influence or interfere in the matters. He held that always the later shall remain resistant to the former.
