The last case of the Serial Killer, "Cyanide" Mohan was a Rape Case of a woman from Kerala. A Local Court of Mangaluru held him guilty for this case. The Punishment Quantity is to be announced on June 24th.
Mohan Kumar, also known as "Cyanide" Mohan, who is famous for his serial killing, has repeatedly befriended and raped women and afterwards, killed them with Cyanide.
Earlier, he had been sentenced to death in five cases and life imprisonment in three cases. Two of the death penalties were later commuted to life imprisonment.
The Victim was a 25-year cook in a ladies hostel. Mohan Proposed her for marriage to which she agreed. After marriage, they informed their family that they would return home soon. They also indulged in a physical relationship in a lodge room near Bengaluru Bus Stand. While returning home, Mohan gave her a Cyanide Coated tablet convincing her it was a contraceptive. After consumption, she collapsed and a constable took her to the nearest hospital. She was declared Dead-On-arrival.
A case of unnatural death was then registered. After Mohan was arrested in October 2009, the victim's sister, seeing his pictures, identified him and filed a complaint, following which the criminal investigation department took up the probe.
Public prosecutor Judith O M Crasta had argued the case earlier, which was taken over later by Jayaram Shetty.
