A normative question arrives that why the people with disabilities always stay absent from the mainstream courses and other things and why their concerns are not taken into account is the real issue and to overcome such queries and question NLSUI have taken steps for the disable candidate so that they can appear for the examination of NLAT 2020.
Instructions have been released by NLSIU which is basically for the persons and students with some sort of Disabilities and who wish to appear for the National Law Aptitude Test 2020 which would allow them to get admissions in law colleges for studies in legal fields.
Instructions include that all the candidates appearing for NLAT 2020 and they have any disabilities shall be provided with an additional time of 15 minutes and this would be applicable for both UG and PG so that they can cope up with other students and would be able to complete the exam, further if any students with visual impairments, locomotor disability(restriction in movement of limbs), and cerebral palsy(a group of disorders that affects movements and muscle tone or posture), they can take services of a scribe which can help them to complete the exam.
An individual with any sort of disability can take the help of a scribe to complete the exam provided that they need to submit the appropriate certificates which show and proves that the candidate appearing for the exam has a physical limitation that he/she cannot write the exam but still wants to appear for the same.
These PWD candidates can choose their own scribe which would further help them to conduct the examination but the points which includes that the scribe should be at least have studied till class 10 and should have passed the class or equivalent and the maximum qualification of the scribe should not exceed the qualification of the candidate as this could lead to any sort of cheating and a fair exam would not be conducted.
Further, all the candidates who would be taking the help of a scribe and will be availing their services, they must need to fill the necessary field which is present in the 'Reservation tab' of the application form of the examination and they must need to upload their documents on the NLSIU admission portal.
This way NLSUI can be well aware before for the students who are appearing for the examination and have some disabilities and further would be availing the services of a scribe for the completion of the examination.
