MISCONCEPTION ABOUT CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT
ARTICLE ON CITIZENSHIP AMENDEMENT BILL
The CAB [CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT BILL] passed by the Rajya sabha recently which grants citizenship of India to the Non Muslims people, after six hours of long debate on this topic voting was taken in Rajaysabha.
The CAB was supported by many of the parties and it is passed with a large majority of more than 300 votes. The question arise here that why Specially Muslims people are worrying unless knowing the reality of this CAB. The main purpose of CAB is to grant the citizenship to those people who are non-Muslims, Sikh, Hindu, Christians, Jain and any of them from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh who arrived before 31st of December, 2014 in India would not be treated as illegal migrants.
We can say in other words, the people who will be not identify themselves with any of the religions or lacked any document to prove their residency said that they would not be eligible for Indian citizenship.
It is clean and clear concept any illegal immigrant from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who belongs to Non of these communities and also not having any legal valid documents will not be deported and it would not apply to tribal areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura.
One thing people are worrying and saying it unconstitutional and it is not going against secularism it is just about the verification of documents for getting citizenship.
If you will go to America, Britain and any other countries or you will not have a valid passport of that country from where you belong then the country will kick out of you from there but India is giving so many options to show the documents whether you belong to this country or not then what is wrong in it. If you are a citizen of India you can stay here if you are not a citizen of India you can leave the country. The citizenship bill not to snatch anyone’s right the opposition parties they are playing the politics game over here. Amit sah said that it will correct the wrong done by partition of the country on religious view.
