No Politics Please Over Plan To Assassinate PM Modi
To begin with, it is after 27 years that once again I am feeling in the same manner as I felt when I first got to hear of Rajiv Gandhi – our young and dynamic leader and former PM being assassinated while canvassing at a rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu! I am completely aghast and shocked to learn that now once again anti-India external forces in full connivance with internal enemies were making a serious plan to assassinate PM Narendra Modi at any cost while he reaches out to the public!
But what has shocked me most is that some Congress leaders and Left leaders have tried to dismiss it as a “publicity stunt” and “vote garnering tactic”! Nothing can be more sinister and shocking than this!
I may differ with PM Narendra Modi on hundred issues but he is our PM and we have to accord him always the due importance which he so richly deserves. He has reached the top post by his sheer hard work and courage. He has faced all sorts of difficulties in his life and converted them into his most useful opportunities which no one can ever deny!
I am however happy to note that the reaction of both former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati has been much more balanced and nuanced. Both have termed it as “most serious” and both have called for an independent inquiry by CBI and top intelligence agencies to unearth the real truth and both external and internal elements involved in the diabolical conspiracy to assassinate PM Modi! I shudder to even think of the situation if our PM Modi is assassinated! We all must stand solidly behind PM Modi and there should be just no politics on this! No one involved in any manner with the planning to assassinate PM Modi should be spared under any circumstances! No politics on this! Why can’t we speak like in Russia, USA, UK and other countries in one voice on this!
India needs the dynamic stewardship of PM Narendra Modi at this critical juncture. I may differ and even be angry with him on his soft policy on Kashmir especially when it comes to stone pelters and his not setting up more high court benches in different parts of UP especially West UP which owes for more than half of pending cases in the last 4 years that her has been in power but that does not mean that I don’t respect him! I have learnt just recently that Ravi Shankar Prasad who is our Union Law Minister while meeting a delegation of lawyers from West UP comprising former General Secretary Prabodh Sharma, Sanjay Sharma among others and Union Minister for State Gen VK Singh had categorically supported the setting up of a bench in West UP and had said that only place remains to be decided! Even when it comes to stone pelters I have learnt that PM Modi is against pardoning all of them and it was CM Mehbooba who was behind all this but this has rarely been reported in the media!
Anyway, coming back to the main issue, the Pune police have allegedly recovered a letter dated April 18, 2017 mentioning a plan to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a person arrested in connection with Maoist activities recently. The document was submitted in court by the Pune police on June 7. Addressed to one “Comrade Prakash” by another person identified only by the letter R, it raises concerns about the Modi-led BJP winning 15 states in quick succession.
It read as: “If this pace continues, it would mean immense trouble on all fronts. Com Kisan and a few other senior comrades have proposed concrete steps to end the Modi raj.” This letter was found from the home of Delhi based activist Rona Wilson. The police suspect that the letter signed “R” is for Rona Wilson!
Going forward, the letter goes on to suggest a strategy to assassinate the Prime Minister. It reads as: “We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi-type incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a good chance that we might fail, but we feel that the party PB/CC must deliberate over our proposal. Targeting his road shows could be an effective strategy. We collectively believe that survival of the party is supreme to all sacrifices.” Pune Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam said several virtual and physical documents were recovered during anti-Maoist raids conducted on April 17. All this cannot be downplayed and has to be taken with utmost seriousness as it involves conspiracy to kill our PM Narendra Modi!
To be sure, a scanned copy of this particular letter was allegedly found on the laptop of Rona Wilson Jacob who is one of the five people arrested on June 6 in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon violence. The others taken into custody along with him have been identified as Surendra Gadling, Sudhir Dhawale, Shoma Sen and Mahesh Raut. We also saw how media confronted SAR Geelani who earlier was under the scanner for his role in the Parliament attack on 13 December 2001 on his connections with Rona Wilson that were emerging. While admitting that he knew Rona he denied any conspiracy of any kind! But this needs thorough investigation to reveal the real truth!
Needless to say, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh very rightly said that the government is serious about the security of the Prime Minister. He further added while addressing a press conference after a two-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir that, “We are always serious about the prime minister’s security. The Maoists are fighting a losing battle. They are now active only in 10 districts in the country.” Those who always advocate holding talks with Maoists should better now wake up their ideas and start talking about neutralizing them in the same manner as Sri Lanka neutralized LTTE!
What I find most despicable is that some leaders like Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam shamelessly suggest that the letter may have been planted! They must learn something from Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati who have taken it most seriously and have called for an independent investigation by NIA, CBI and other intelligence agencies! On the contrary, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam told ANI that, “I am not saying this is completely untrue, but it has been Prime Minister Modi’s old tactic, since he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. Whenever his popularity declines, news of an assassination plot is planted. So, it should be probed how much truth is in it this time.”
How can a responsible leader like Sanjay Nirupam talk like this? How can he raise questions on news of assassination plot being planted? How can he even raise question marks on reports being planted by PM himself so brazenly? By the way, he is the same leader who even questioned the “surgical strike” conducted by our forces and left no attempt in maligning even our armed forces!
For God sake, stop dragging this dirty politics on the question of life and death of our PM Narendra Modi! For God sake remember that Narendra Modi is PM not just of BJP but of entire India just like earlier Rajiv Ganddhi was PM not of just Congress but of India as a nation! No petty and dirty politics on this! Stop all this dirty, murky and petty politics on an all-important issue like this which directly concerns the security of our PM Narendra Modi and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis!
It would be my earnest request to all leaders in particular Rajnath Singh who is Union Home Minister to ensure that the security level of PM Narendra Modi is raised several times from before especially as election time approaches! India cannot afford to lose PM Modi just like Rajiv Gandhi who died at such a young age of 46! PM Modi has still lot to give to this nation just like Rajiv Gandhi whom I always admired when I was then just a teen age boy!
It is the primary duty of each and every citizen of India to be ready to pay extra also to ensure that there is no compromise on the security of PM Narendra Modi under any circumstances! Only God knows what would have happened if this conspiracy was not unravelled by the Pune police for which they must be commended and awarded also suitably! Most importantly, this must not be taken lightly and all attempts must be made to expose those leaders from different parties who have any role to play in this most dangerous and diabolical conspiracy to kill PM Modi!
Addressing the Pune court on June 7, the Public Prosecutor Ujjwala Pawar said it was evident from the letter that the Maoists were planning to kill “someone” on the lines of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination. She added that the sender of the letter mentions that the plot sounds suicidal, but the party must still deliberate on the proposal. She quotes the letter saying “We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi-type incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a chance that we might fail but party must deliberate on our proposal.” Most shocking and terrifying to read this!
How can any good citizen of India raise questions on this and dismiss it as “planted to raise popularity level”? How can such a dangerous conspiracy to kill our PM Narendra Modi be treated so lightly? How can any Indian tolerate this open disrespect of our PM Narendra Modi? This is what I find most deplorable!
It also cannot be lightly dismissed that in another development, sources in the state home department on June 8 said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also received two threat letters allegedly from Maoist groups over the last ten days. The letters which reached the Chief Minister’s office a week ago, have been handed over to the police. An official said while adding that both the documents mentioned the Gadchiroli encounters that, “They came after the recent anti-Naxal operations in Gadchiroli, in which 39 Maoists were killed. The letters have been handed over to the police for further investigation.”
Now will Sanjay Nirupam question this also and dismiss this also as yet another “publicity stunt” most shamelessly? All dirty politics being played over the attempt to assassinate PM Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis must stop right now and both these leaders must be given the highest amount of security because India needs the services of both these leaders and they both have a long way still to go! The letter which raises apprehension that their attempt to assassinate Modi may fail also but the attempt has to be made at any cost must be taken most seriously and not downplayed under any circumstances!
Of course, strictest possible action must be taken against all those who are involved in any way in this diabolical and most dangerous conspiracy to eliminate PM Modi and CM Fadnavis! They cannot be allowed to escape by citing one loophole or the other in any law or by citing the Constitution itself! Any leniency of any kind on this would be betrayal of our long term national interest! This under no circumstances can be allowed to happen! No individual or group or party or law or even court or even Constitution itself can be above the unity and integrity of India which stands above everything else!
